Presentation

The ASC 5521 MF / 5525 MF is a triaxial accelerometer based on capacitive MEMS technology, allowing, thanks to its high sensitivity and low noise sensitivity, the precise and reliable measurement of small variations in acceleration over measurement ranges from ±2g to ±200g on 3 x, y, z axes simultaneously. With a cut-off frequency between 700 and 1800 Hz depending on the model, the ASC 5521 MF / 5525 MF acceleration sensor is suitable for studying high dynamic behaviour.

The very good accuracy (less than 0.5% non-linearity) is obtained by compensating the calibration over a wide temperature range (temperature sensitivity: 0.012 %/°).

Installation and use

Signal Output and installation

The amplified output signal of the ASC 5521 MF / 5525 MF (±2.7 VDC) is independent of the supply voltage (5 to 40 VDC). Mounting is by glue or screws. With an IP67 aluminum or hardened steel housing, an operating temperature range of -20 to +100°C, and a shock resistance of up to 6000g, the ASC 5521 MF / 5525 MF is recommended for the most severe applications.

Wiring

The standard cable (30 gram/meter; PUR; AWG 30; Diameter: 4.4mm) is available in 8 or 12 wires. The standard length (6m) can be adjusted as required (limit of about 30m). A LEMO, Jaeger or other connector can be added as an option. A trident arrangement of the wires is also available as an option to simplify the connection to the acquisition system.
