The MUX-BC-12 is a new signal conditioner and converter for 12 quarter-bridge strain gauge channels (3-wire), with CAN / CAN FD output. Each channel integrates bridge completion, excitation, amplification, and A/D conversion to digitize as close to the sensor as possible and ensure a consistent measurement chain. Up to four modules can be daisy-chained on the same bus, totaling 48 channels.
The module integrates calibration shunts (automatic or manual), adjustable gain per channel, and compatibility with 120/350 Ω strain gauges. It operates on 9–36 VDC in an IP65-rated aluminum housing. Dedicated software handles configuration, shunt calibration, scaling, and recording. The CAN interface easily connects to the system’s CAN input or to a PC via an optional CAN-USB converter.
Integration is seamless: connect the gauges to the terminal blocks, configure settings in the software, and transmit data via CAN/CAN FD to your recorder or control unit. For rotary applications, the MUX-BC-12 pairs with a 4-track slip ring (S-Series); mounted on the rotor, it digitizes signals right at the gauges while only power and CAN pass through the slip ring.
Target applications include vehicle testing (structural validation, chassis tuning), rotating machinery (shafts, compressors, alternators), mechanical test benches, as well as aerospace when strain measurement must be performed in rotation or in constrained environments.
