Overview

The 6-component MEMS based industrial grade inertial measurement unit IMU 7 measures 3 linear accelerations and 3 angular velocities simultaneously and independently, using a combination of gyroscopes and tri-axis accelerometers. The measurement signals generated are used for static and dynamic characterization of structures.

The IMU 7 is available in 2 versions:

  • The “LN” declination is optimized to offer the best signal-to-noise ratio. The sensor supplies the DC component of the signal, and the -3dB bandwidth is between 2100 Hz for acceleration (depending on measurement range) and 150 Hz for angular velocity.
  • The “MF” version offers a wider bandwidth (0 to 7 kHz for acceleration, and 0-150 Hz for angular velocity).

The IMU-7 inertial unit is produced and calibrated by freely combining measurement ranges:

  • linear acceleration: 2, 5, 10, 25 or 50 g
  • angular velocity: 75, 150, 300 or 900 °/s

Installation

IMU-7 inertial unit's miniature IP65 housing (31 x 22.5 x 22.5 mm) is made of lightweight anodized aluminum, and includes a standard 12-pin comtronic connector. Cables are customer specific built and provided in option (custom length, arrangements and connectors mounting).
