The K6D55ri is a 6-axis sensor (Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, Mz) designed for demanding robotic and mechatronic applications. Its monoblock aluminum construction ensures low weight and high stability, while the native EtherCAT-P interface enables deterministic real-time transmission directly to the PLC or robot controller. The Ø55 mm x 50 mm version covers five payload ranges, from ±50 N/±5 Nm to ±1 kN/±25 Nm, making it suitable for applications ranging from micro-forces to more intensive operations.
Integration has been simplified thanks to embedded electronics, PoE power supply (24 V), and configurable sampling up to 1 kHz. Accuracy is specified up to 0.2% PE, with inter-channel sensitivity ≤ 1% after correction and an allowable overload of 300% to secure transient phases. Direct mounting is enabled via the ISO 9409-1-31.33-4-M5 flange, facilitating integration on robot wrists or tooling.
The sensor is designed for use in robotics (collision detection, interaction control), tooling and machine tool instrumentation, medical robotics, and biomechanical testing (e.g., prosthesis trials). Compatibility with standard control environments (TwinCAT, ROS, LabVIEW) is ensured to accelerate the commissioning of force/torque control loops.
Several options are available to meet metrological requirements: cable lengths of 2, 5 (standard), or 10 m, circular M8 connectors, individual calibration with compensation matrices (SL/HL levels and 2/4/6/10 points), as well as IP65 environmental resistance and an operating temperature range of −10 to +65 °C. Periodic recalibration may be recommended depending on usage.
