Introduction

The HX series of cable displacement transducers is the most robust solution in the range of cable transducers for measuring linear position and/or linear velocity. IP65 waterproof as standard, IP68 as an option, the HX transducers with their stainless steel design are suitable for the most severe environments (humidity, dust, temperature, vibration).

The wide HX series is available with 30 measuring ranges from 50 mm to 50 m, and 7 types of analog (ratiometric, bridge circuit, 4-20 mA, 0 to 5 or 0 to 10 VDC, ± 10 VDC, ± 5 VDC) or digital (TTL in quadrature) output signals. Gain and offset are adjustable on some models. Some models also provide a linear velocity measurement.

Installation

The cable is directly or indirectly linked to the displacement to be measured, which allows a non-normal or non-linear displacement. The measurement can be offset by cable extensions. The sensor body and the cable are fixed on the fixed or mobile part of the measurement. The connector of the HX is made of intertwined cables and protected by a reinforced urethane layer. The electrical components are sealed to IP-65, with IP-68 sealing available as an option. The IP-68 version of the HX housing is made of steel and corrosion resistant plastic.
