New MCC 500 N — Compression Force in a Compact Form Factor

The MCC 500 N is a miniature compression load cell designed for integrations where footprint and repeatability are critical. With an accuracy of 0.1% of full scale, it measures compression forces up to 500 N on test benches, tooling, and special-purpose machines.

Technical highlights: compact form factor (19.3 × 28.3 × 12 mm), Ø 6.4 mm spherical loading button, 2.2 mV/V nominal output, 150% FS overload capacity. Aluminum body, 1.5 m shielded 4-conductor cable. Temperatures: –55 to +90 °C (compensated range –10 to +45 °C). Performance: nonlinearity ±0.10% FS, hysteresis ±0.10% FS, non-repeatability ±0.05% RO.

Integration: apply force on the slightly domed button; provide a flat, rigid support surface on the “inactive end”; minimize side loads and off-axis loading to preserve accuracy. Bridge excitation up to 12 VDC (typically 5–10 V), 350 Ω bridge resistance, 4-wire connection—ready for direct hookup to a standard signal conditioner/DAQ.

Applications: component testing (clips/snap-fit, springs, micro-actuators), force control on assembly stations and lab presses, contact-force verification in medical and portable devices, micromechanics and R&D where a compact, precise sensor simplifies integration.
