Rugged Wire Rope Linear Displacement Sensor - 0-3.8m to 0-10.1m

Overview

The JX-HM series is a range of cost-effective linear displacement cable sensors, designed for low to moderately harsh applications in dry or humid environments. Their chemical-resistant thermoplastic housing provides IP67 protection against water, oil, and various splashes, while an integrated wiper keeps the cable clean during movement.

The JX-HM uses a non-contact absolute magnetic encoder, which is wear-free and particularly well-suited to vibrating environments compared to potentiometric technology. Available outputs include current (4–20 mA, 0–20 mA) and voltage (0–5 V, 0–10 V, ±5 V, ±10 V), with zero and sensitivity adjustment. The choice between current output and voltage output is made via DIP switches on the sensor.

The JX-HM offers flexible electrical connectivity, either via an M12 connector or a multi-core cable, with multiple orientation options for both the electrical cable and the steel measuring cable.

The JX-HM is available in three measuring ranges, from 0–3.8 m to 0–10.1 m.

Installation

The cable is either directly or indirectly linked to the displacement being measured, allowing for non-normal or non-linear movement. Measurement can be extended via cable extensions or pulleys. The cable sensor does not need to be aligned with the displacement. Both the sensor body and the cable can be mounted on either the fixed or moving part of the measurement setup. Installation is carried out using two screws on the sensor body.
