Overview
The KD33 strain gauge force transducer is designed to measure very low bending forces up to 50 mN. The design is based on the use of solid state strain gauges mounted on a double titanium alloy beam. This technology makes the transducer very robust, allowing it to withstand stresses up to 10N.
The KD33 is attached to the frame by means of 4 M1.4 threads. The force is transmitted via 4 M1.4 threads. The force measurement is determined by the deflection of the load cell under load in the horizontal direction. Due to its double beam design, the KD33 load cell offers tolerance to eccentric and lateral forces (lateral force limit: 200% of nominal force)
Accuracy is 0.5% with a nominal sensitivity of 2.5 mV/V. The connection system consists of a 3m 4-wire output cable. The force transducer KD33 is protected to a large extent against environmental influences (light, infrared radiation, air flow) by a housing. However, when the palm of a hand is approached from a few centimetres away, the zero point is immediately shifted by approx. 0.2% FS (0.1 mN) due to the radiation heat input at the mounting flange. Due to the small measuring range, vibrations, building oscillations and "any movement" in the working area cause a disturbance. When integrating, care must also be taken to keep the weight of the sample holder as low as possible.

The transducer is supplied with a factory calibration certificate 6 points from 1g to 5g in 20% increments.
Construction, Dimensions
The KD33 is made of titanium, waterproof to IP40. The weight is 5 grams. The nominal operating temperature is 10 to 50°C, the measurement is temperature compensated from 10 to 30°C.
Packaging and acquisition
The S-shaped sensor KD33 is supplied with 1 to 10 Vdc. Possibility to obtain a complete and configured measurement chain by adding a display, conditioner or acquisition module. See our selection:
