Non-contact position sensor for magnetic targets

AMS-3000 eddy current sensor is used for non-contact measurement of the position of a magnetic part at a maximum distance of 7 mm through non-magnetic barriers (organic or metallic, conductive or non-conductive).

Designed for use in rough temperature (-40 to +120°C) and pressure (35 Bar as standard, up to 2000 Bar as an option) environments, the measurement is done directly on the part / shaft without the addition of a magnet. Resolution ranges from 1 up to 10µm depending on the measurement range, and the bandwidth (12,5kHz) allows the use in high dynamic applications, and/or for vibration.


Several interfaces are available for integration: threaded nipple, flanges, AS4320 hydraulic port. Other interfaces are possible as options. The probe, IP67, can be delivered hermetically sealed for submerged applications.

The excitation current for the generation of the magnetic field and the amplification of the measurement signal are realized in a remote DIN-rail conditioner.

Calibration / adjustment

The calibration of the AMS-3000 is performed directly on the application, in real conditions (temperature, pressure, supply voltage, target, etc...), on 2 measurement points. The gain and the offset of the amplifier can be adjusted to optimize the linearity of the response.
