Overview

SHAKEdot is a standalone vibration recorder designed for continuous vibration monitoring (days, weeks, months, years) and the protection of construction sites, buildings, historical monuments, civil engineering structures and other sensitive infrastructure. SHAKEdot is powered by two 18650 lithium batteries and integrates a direct current charging circuit (5 to 18 VDC). Collected data is saved locally on a micro-SD card with sufficient capacity for more than one million data samples (32 GB). The SHAKEDOT also integrates LTE-M and Nb-IOT connectivity enabling real-time and remote access to collected data, as well as the implementation of alarm rules and automated notifications.

The measurements provided by the embedded 3-axis capacitive accelerometer are sampled at 250 Hz, then continuously processed to calculate a number of indicators, including peak particle velocity (PPV), in accordance with DIN 4150-3 and BS 7385-2 standards, and MTVV (ISO 2631-2). When a threshold is exceeded, the data (timestamp, main harmonic and PPV for each axis, temperature and battery level) is saved on the SD card (with timestamp) and also transmitted to the remote server for archiving and notification of the operator / user.
