Introduction

The FM 208 is a system for measuring the closing force of motorised tailgates in automobiles. The FM-208 is used for development, validation, approval or inspection (end of production, approval or technical inspection) of the tailgate. With a stiffness of only 2N/mm, the FM-208 is particularly suitable for measurement in environments where soft components are pinched.

The construction is robust and the measurement is accurate and stable. Maintenance consists of an annual or bi-annual recalibration according to the user's standards.

Use

Operation is quick and easy and requires no training. Measurements are triggered and recorded using the supplied console (memory for 100 test cycles).

Configuration, visualisation, measurement evaluation and automated test report generation are performed using the Pinch Pilot PC software supplied with the FM-208. The system can be easily interfaced with a PLC, a supervisory software to easily automate the verification process.
