Overview

The pALERT S303, Q332 and F330 are all-in-one triaxial seismic accelerographs designed to provide the complete monitoring chain: measurement, event detection, processing, recording and transmission of seismic data.

Each device directly integrates the sensor, acquisition, local storage and the Pd, PGA and STA/LTA algorithms. In the event of an event, data can be recorded and transmitted over the network for early warning, post-earthquake analysis or the triggering of safety actions depending on the configuration.

The range is available in MEMS, Quartz MEMS or Force Balance technologies to meet the monitoring needs of buildings, infrastructure, industrial sites and EEWS networks.

From detection to alert

The pALERT units combine in a single device:

Triaxial measurement → Seismic detection → Recording → Transmission → Alert / action

When an event is detected, the system can record seismic data, transmit information to the network and, depending on the model and architecture chosen, use digital or Modbus outputs to trigger an alarm or a safety shutdown action.

Available models

Model Technology Range Frequency band Dynamic range
pALERT S303 MEMS ±2 / ±4 g 0.05–40 Hz >100 dB
pALERT Q332 Quartz MEMS ±1 / ±2 / ±4 / ±15 g DC–460 Hz 132 dB
pALERT F330 Force Balance ±0.5 / ±1 / ±2 / ±4 g DC–200 Hz >130 dB

Which model to choose?

pALERT S303

Solution suited to standard seismic monitoring and early warning, with MEMS technology and a 0.05–40 Hz band.

pALERT Q332

Recommended when high dynamic range, low noise level and an extended frequency band are required, particularly for seismic networks and advanced structural monitoring.

pALERT F330

To be preferred for applications requiring a high-precision Force Balance sensor, in particular industrial facilities, critical infrastructure and safety triggering systems.

Applications

These systems are particularly suitable for:

  • Earthquake Early Warning Systems – EEWS
  • seismic monitoring of buildings
  • structural monitoring of bridges and dams
  • rapid post-earthquake assessment
  • industrial risk prevention
  • automatic equipment shutdown
  • monitoring of sensitive sites
  • regional seismic monitoring networks

FAQ

  • What is the difference between S303, Q332 and F330?
They mainly differ in sensor technology: MEMS, Quartz MEMS or Force Balance, as well as in their dynamic range and frequency band.

  • Can these systems generate an alert before strong shaking?
Yes. The pALERT units in particular use the Pd algorithm based on the analysis of the first P waves to provide early warning depending on the configuration.

  • Are seismic events recorded?
Yes. The systems can locally store events, acceleration values and waveforms for analysis.

  • Can they automatically trigger equipment?
Yes, some models feature outputs allowing the system to be integrated into a shutdown or industrial safety logic.

Storage and events

md

Event recording

The pALERT accelerographs can locally store detected events along with their key information: date, time, acceleration levels and waveform data.

Events can then be used for seismic analysis, structural assessment or the triggering of safety actions.
