Overview
The DA68e strain gauge sensor is a reliable and cost-effective solution for high-resolution measurement of forces and deformation of structures. Technically identical to the direct application of strain gauges on the structure, this sensor provides a significant gain in implementation and flexibility thanks to its packaging integrating the conditioning electronics.
The sensor consists of a full strain gauge bridge, fully wired and then press-fitted onto a sensing body by the combined action of magnets and adhesive. Sealing is ensured by a gasket on the contact surface and by the introduction of a resin after installation. For prolonged outdoor use, a silicone sealant can be applied.
The measuring range is 1000 µm/m. The measurement is characterized by high resolution, very low drift effects and a low response time. To meet the different types of measurement (force, torsion, shear, etc...), 3 types of gauges are offered: 10S (FAE4/350 Ohm), 125S or S120P (FAE4/ 1000 Ohm).
Installation and use
The DA68e includes 4 magnets allowing the sensor to be positioned without additional drilling. The bonding of the gauge onto the sensing body is achieved by bonding the housing.
Dimensions

The strain gauge is mounted in a full bridge. The conditioning is performed via electronics integrated into the sensor. The output signal is of the 0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA type. The conversion of strain into force is done by calibration on the application. The operating temperature range is -20 to +85°C. The supply voltage is 24 VDC (12 VDC optional).
Also available as an option: a version without conditioning electronics (DA68)
