Overview
The TL740D 6-component inertial measurement unit is an economical and robust solution for measuring the 3 linear accelerations and 3 angular rates simultaneously and independently, using a combination of tri-axial MEMS gyroscopes and accelerometers. The generated measurement signals are then digitized (CAN bus) and post-processed to determine the instantaneous angles (roll, pitch, azimuth).
The sensor bandwidth is approximately 0-100 Hz, including the DC components of the signals. The measuring ranges are +/- 4g in linear acceleration, and +/-150°/s in angular rate.
The housing of the TL740D inertial measurement unit is compact (60 x 60 x 27.5 mm), IP67, and includes a 3 m long cable (other lengths available as an option).
Use
The output signals are transmitted via the CAN bus. The protocol, which is proprietary, complies with the CAN 2.0A/B standard. Transmission is performed on request or continuously. The sampling frequency is configurable.
