Overview
The GSV-6BT M8 is a data acquisition module enabling the recording of analog measurement data (up to 6 channels) on a micro-SD card or wirelessly to a PC (Bluetooth connection). Four recording modes are available: continuous, periodic, external trigger, or threshold-based. The module features 4 programmable alarms, and recording files can be downloaded remotely via Bluetooth. A real-time clock enables timestamping of measurements.

The Bluetooth connection is compatible with the following modes:
- BT Classic with Serial Port Profile (SPP), for continuous transmission to the acquisition PC
- BT Low Energy (LE), which can be used with a smartphone, for example.
Standalone data logger for structure monitoring
The GSV-6BT M8 is particularly suited for structure monitoring applications (bridges, buildings, sites, construction sites, etc.). The analog channels and acquisition frequencies allow connection to a wide range of sensors: displacement, force, torque, acceleration, crack meters, inclinometers, etc. Automatic file management and the use of a cellular router with Bluetooth connectivity enable instant access to recording files in a secure configuration.
Communication, Software
The Windows acquisition software GSVmulti included with the GSV-6BT M8 can be used to configure the GSV-6BT M8 module. It requires first creating a virtual COM port on the PC (driver provided).
An SDK is also available for application development in C, C++, or LabVIEW (Windows function library (MEGSV8w32.dll) with annotated C header and a library with wrapper VIs for this DLL).
